Louisiana Public Broadcasting and TV5MONDEUSA Partner to Bring Special Broadcast to Air Focusing on Environmental Issues

BATON ROUGE, La (press release) – On Tuesday, Dec. 12, at 12:08 p.m. PST, TV5MONDEUSA and Louisiana Public Broadcasting are partnering up to bring viewers the Baton Rouge segment of La Piste de la Francophonie pour la planet, a special broadcast that focuses on environmental issues across the planet including the greater Louisiana area.

The Panels will feature:

  • Theresa Dardar, Membre, Tribu Indienne Pointe-au-Chien
  • Wendell Curole, Directeur, Système de Digues de Paroisse Terrebonne
  • Lindsay Smythe, Originaire de la Paroisse côtière Cameron, Fondatrice et directrice de l’Êcole Saint-Landry
  • Drake LeBlanc, Cinéaste, Co-fondateur de Télé-Louisiane, Réalisateur d’un documentaire sur des Cowboys Créoles
  • Dewith Carrier, Député francophone

To mark its 40th anniversary, TV5MONDE is offering “La Piste de la Francophonie pour la planet,” a unique live broadcast across 17 cities around the world. This special edition will focus on environmental issues, preservation of the planet, and sustainable development. Its objective: to bring to light the consequences of global warming, and how francophone-speaking countries have been actively responding.
