The Cordish Companies and Shreveport and Bossier Arts Council Announced 12 Local Winners of Open Artist Call

BOSSIER CITY, La (press release) – The Cordish Companies, in collaboration with the Shreveport and Bossier City Arts Councils, has selected twelve (12) local artists to create original artwork that will be displayed inside the new $270+ million Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana, set to open in the East Bank Cultural District in Bossier City in Q1 2025.
Following an open call to artists across Northwest Louisiana, a panel of judges – including representatives from Live! Casino, seasoned artists, and art professionals – evaluated numerous submissions to determine the final selections.
“I cannot begin to express the amount of gratitude I have for being chosen as a finalist to display my own rendition of the Louisiana culture that is deeply embedded into the swamps and nightlife in our area,” said local artist Jenn Ryland. “As a lifelong native of Northwest Louisiana, I am beyond honored to be a part of this local art recognition in our very own Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana.”
Dozens of artists from Bossier, Caddo, Webster, Claiborne, Bienville, DeSoto, Red River, Sabine, and Natchitoches parishes submitted original designs that celebrate the dynamic energy of Live! Casino’s entertainment, gaming, dining, and nightlife experiences. These winning pieces will be prominently displayed in the pre-function area of the 25,000-square-foot Event Center, a cutting-edge venue for live entertainment, corporate events, and community gatherings.

Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana is set to become a major attraction upon opening in the first quarter of 2025. The property will include over 47,000 square feet of gaming and entertainment space, featuring 1,000+ slot machines and electronic games, 40+ live-action table games, a sportsbook, and more. The upscale 550-room hotel will offer a resort pool, fitness center, a 25,000 square foot Event Center, an RV park, ample parking, and 30,000 square feet of top-tier dining and entertainment options.
