Jean Lafitte Seafood Festival Returns

JEAN LAFITTE, La (press release) – The Jean Lafitte Seafood Festival is back, taking place May 30–June 1 at the Jean Lafitte Auditorium and Grounds, located at 4953 City Park Dr. in Jean Lafitte.
“This festival celebrates the spirit that defines our unique community,” said Jean Lafitte Mayor Tim Kerner, Jr. “From our world-renowned cuisine, music, and seafood to our local artists and wildlife, we are celebrating our town’s unique relationship to seafood and the coast. We invite everyone to come join us in Lafitte to celebrate.”
Festival-goers can expect a weekend packed with entertainment and activities, including live music on the main stage, Louisiana cuisine, kayak rentals, a kids’ zone, and an arts walk. The festival grounds are nestled beside the town’s scenic Wetland Trace — a boardwalk trail through a 41-acre cypress swamp nature preserve adjacent to the Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve. The festival this year will once again feature a festive wine walk through the swamp.
