May the Fourth Star Wars Festival Will Return to Houma
HOUMA, La (press release) – Louisiana’s Star Wars festival, May the Fourth, will return this May in Downtown Houma.
The full-day festival will blend Star Wars fandom, Louisiana culture and live music for community impact on Saturday, May 2, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
M4Louisiana, a nonprofit 501(c)(3), is a group of Star Wars fans, local business owners and community leaders who created the May the Fourth Festival to celebrate community spirit through fandom and philanthropy.
Proceeds from this year’s festival sponsorships, cook-offs and activities will benefit the H.L. Bourgeois High School Band by helping to fund instruments, uniforms and performance opportunities for student musicians.
This festival turns pop culture passion into purpose by directly supporting local youth arts programs.

Galactic Cook-Off & Kessel Run 5K
The festival features The Empire Cooks Back Galactic Cook-Off, bringing Louisiana food culture and fan creativity together for a competitive culinary experience.
The 2nd Annual Kessel Run 5K, a nighttime glow race through Downtown Houma, invites runners and walkers of all skill levels. Costumes are encouraged.
Marketplace/Vendors
Ogranizers share that the May the Fourth Festival is preparing for another year of expanded programming and increased community engagement, supported by a growing network of local vendors, artists, food partners and brand collaborators.
This year’s festival will feature a curated vendor marketplace alongside interactive experiences designed to create meaningful exposure for participating businesses and support regional arts and arts education initiatives.

Expanded Kid Zone
The May the Fourth Festival Kid Zone is a family-focused area that features a variety of attractions designed to engage young festivalgoers throughout the day. The Star Wars Millennium Falcon Experience will return, and to further enhance the Kid Zone, Parish Party Rentals will provide multiple children’s activities, including a sure-to-be festival favorite: the foam cannon.
