Louisiana Athletes at New X Games New Orleans Event
Opelousas and Destrehan athletes compete at the XGL Championship. Plus, local skateboarders battle at fan experience.
NEW ORLEANS – A new X Games New Orleans event, happening July 24-26 at Caesars Superdome, brings together the world’s top skateboard, BMX and Moto X athletes for three days of competition.
The event is the inaugural MoonPay X Games League (XGL) Championship, X Games’ newest professional competition where athletes compete for city-based clubs in a multi-stop format.
In addition to the XGL Championship, the weekend will also feature X Fest, live entertainment and interactive fan experiences throughout the dome.

Louisiana Athletes and X Games New Orleans
The inaugural X Games New Orleans event will showcase professional Louisiana athletes competing in the XGL Championship and local skateboarders competing for the Battle of the Boot Champion title.
Battle of the Boot
The Battle of the Boot is part of a statewide partnership with Louisiana skate organizations, including Humidity Skate Shop in New Orleans, Still Pushing on the Northshore, Rukus Skate Shop in Lafayette and the Capital Region and Tomahawk Skateshop in Monroe.
Last weekend, local skateboarders of all skill levels competed at New Orleans and Northshore qualifying competitions for a chance to represent one of Louisiana’s five area codes at X Fest, the weekend’s live fan experience.
The area code skateboard champions will compete against one another for the Battle of the Boot Championship title.
Louisiana Athletes at the Championship
Two Louisiana athletes, Wyatt Fontenot and Brod Raiford, will compete this weekend at X Games New Orleans.
Fontenot is an Opelousas native and professional motocross rider who holds two bronze medals. He will be competing in the Moto X Best Whip event.
Raiford is a Destrehan native and two-time X Games medalist known for his 50-inch “bunnyhop,” competing in the BMX Street event.

Wyatt Fontenot – Moto X Best Whip
Wyatt Fontenot
Coming off a bronze medal in Sacramento, this Louisiana native will be making his fifth X Games appearance at MoonPay X Games NOLA. After being named an alternate in both 2023 and 2024, he earned a spot in the field each time and delivered his best result with a fourth-place finish in Ventura 2024.
A former professional motocross racer, he competed through 2020 before shifting his focus to freestyle motocross. His path hasn’t been easy, overcoming multiple knee surgeries on both knees. Before turning pro, he worked construction and now works part-time on diesel trucks. He relocated to California in 2022 and spends his downtime with his girlfriend and their French bulldog Enzo.
Broc Raiford – BMX Street
Broc Raiford
Making his 10th X Games appearance at MoonPay X Games NOLA 2026, Broc holds two X Games medals, a bronze from BMX Street and a silver from Real BMX. Away from the bike, Broc enjoys skateboarding and riding motorcycles, and has a deep passion for art, particularly painting and drawing. He is inspired by traditional tattoo artwork and tattoo flash.
Known for his powerful style of riding, Broc can “bunnyhop” higher than almost anyone in BMX, with his personal best being 50 inches in the air.
He started riding BMX at age 8 and entered and won his first contest at age 11 during summer 2005 in Pensacola, Florida. His dad always rode bikes and got him into it at a young age. Though he tried out many other sports, he would always find his way back to his bike.
