Easy Rider

Re: At Last, A Monument
for Easy Rider
November/December 2010

Your article on the monument for Easy Rider was as exciting as Christmas morning. Recognition of what the story Fonda and Hopper put on the screen is went far beyond just being appealing to motorcycle riders. Several of my longtime riding buddies and I have been to the sacred spot and felt the karma. In the early ‘70s a friend of mine and I who still ride together today made a summer cross- country trip from Monroe to the Grand Canyon. We camped beneath the desert stars and rode two-lane blacktops in the summer heat. It was an adventure.

Earlier this year I watched an interview with one of the producers of Easy Rider who said no one would really ride a motorcycle like that across the country. That was just done for the movie. Maybe I should send him a copy of this issue, too. It’s the real thing.

Thanks again,
