BATON ROUGE, La (press release) – Feeding Louisiana has been selected as the new contractor to implement the CSFP program, effective July 1, 2024.

CSFP provides monthly food boxes to low-income seniors, ensuring they have access to nutritious food to support their health and well-being. This transition marks a new era in the provision of food assistance services for seniors across the state.

Feeding Louisiana, the state association of the five regional Food Banks, brings a wealth of experience and expertise in food distribution and hunger relief efforts. Their dedication to serving food-insecure communities aligns perfectly with the mission of CSFP.

“Ensuring that seniors have access to nutritious food is a priority for us, and we are committed to maintaining the high standards of service established by the program,” said Pat R. Van Burkleo, Executive Director of Feeding Louisiana. “Our goal is to make this transition as seamless as possible, ensuring that there is no interruption in the services provided to those who rely on the program for their food needs.”

An estimated 39,015 seniors receive food assistance through CSFP. Feeding Louisiana is prepared to meet this demand head-on, working tirelessly to ensure that every senior enrolled in the program receives the support they need.

Feeding Louisiana will work closely with current CSFP participants, local agencies, and community partners to facilitate a smooth transition. They are committed to upholding the integrity and effectiveness of the program while continuing to serve seniors with dignity and respect.
