Louisiana Campground Named Best Place to Camp
The Dyrt presented its Best Place to Camp awards, naming a Louisiana campground as the #1 spot in the Southeast.
PORTLAND (press release) – The Dyrt, a campsite app built by one of the largest RVing and camping communities in the U.S., announced the 2026 Best Places To Camp Regional Awards presented by Luxefly Base Camp, naming a Louisiana campground as the best place to camp in the Southeast.

With mountain hideaways, riverside relaxation, RV resorts, lakefront lounging and expansive wilderness, the only common thread among the 60 winning campgrounds is that they are the best places to camp in America, according to reviews from the campsite community.

About The Dyrt’s Best Place to Camp Awards
The Best Places to Camp awards are split into Top 10 lists for six regions: Central, Midwest, Mountain, Northeast, Pacific and Southeast.
The Best Places to Camp Regional Awards are presented by Luxefly Base Camp, a purveyor of chef-crafted, freeze-dried meals designed for camping, backpacking and outdoor adventures.
Included in the repeat winners are a trio of Dakota destinations that attract campers from all over: Scoria Pit in North Dakota, as well as The Wall and Big Pine Campground in South Dakota, which make up the top 3 spots in the Central Region, after all landing in the top 5 in 2025.
California once again leads the way among all states, with five campgrounds making the Best Places to Camp in the Pacific Region.
In the Southeast Region, Landry Vineyards Grape Escape RV Sites in West Monroe, Louisiana made the list again, this time at the top. Having a vineyard and winery at the campsite gives them an advantage, organizers share.

What makes it great: Landry Vineyards Grape Escape earns its spot on this list for being unlike anything else here: a working winery where a handful of full-hookup gravel sites sit on a hill overlooking active grape rows, with the property split by a country road between camping and the tasting room.
The tasting room pours around 30 varieties, including a popular blackberry merlot and a chocolate raspberry port, and stays open Monday-Saturday. Saturday evenings often bring live music, and campers who time their stay right have stumbled into everything from solo guitar sets to a full bagpipe performance under the portico. One guest arranged a wine-and-cheese delivery straight to his site after a long day of driving.
