Louisiana Winter Beer Festival

More than 40 breweries will be on tap at the Louisiana Winter Beer Festival from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 9, in the 1000 block of Ryan Street overlooking the Calcasieu Parish Courthouse and 1911 Historic City Hall in downtown Lake Charles. We’re talking local craft beers from Lake Charles’ Crying Eagle Brewing Company, a wide variety of beers crafted throughout Louisiana and some breweries hailing from out of state. In addition, there will be food from local restaurants and live music.

Tickets are $50 and include admission to the festival at 1 p.m., a commemorative tasting glass and access to more than 125 beers to sample. VIP tickets are $100 and include early admission, access to a VIP area that includes more beer selections (last year we found some of our tastiest brews here), food catered by Blue Dog Café and a commemorative glass.

Not a fan of beer? If you’re 18 or older you can be a designated driver and enter the festival for free and receive free bottled water. So, okay the water doesn’t sound that appealing but there’s live music!
