Avoyelles Parish

1. New Year’s Eve Party at Paragon Casino Resort

  • Live Music by The Hot Sauce Band
  • Balloon Drop at midnight (Grand Hall)
  • Club Mezazz opens at 9 p.m.

4. Rooftop Ring In at Shaw Center for the Arts

A night of celebration to ring in the New Year and celebrate the Shaw Center’s 20th anniversary on The River Terrace, the building’s private rooftop event venue.

This special fundraising event will feature:

  • Entertainment by the Souled Out band and Carl Mack Productions
  • Light hors d’oeuvres by Bacon & Fig Events
  • Bar service featuring specialty cocktails by Tippy Tap
  • Unique photo ops
  • Premier view of the Baton Rouge fireworks show on the Mississippi River

All proceeds will be donated to the Maintenance & Enhancement Fund of Shaw Center for the Arts, which ensures continued care of the building and the specialized facilities of the Manship Theatre, the LSU Museum of Art, The River Terrace, Tsunami, Capital City Grill and all of the organizations that call the Shaw Center home.

1. New Year’s Noon Carnival and Countdown

The 29th annual New Year’s Noon Carnival and Countdown at the Children’s Museum of Acadiana welcomes families with:

  • A confetti blast inside and outside to celebrate the countdown to noon
  • Live music
  • Stunts from the Amazing Bacon Stilt Walker
  • Games and activities with prizes up for grabs
  • Free wearable party favors
  • Interactive exhibits, festive crafts and more

2. A Zoo Year’s Eve

Zoosiana’s Zoo Year’s Eve Countdown for Kids is a mid-day celebration designed for families and filled with zoo adventures, activities, dancing, treats and the Tiger Ball Drop at noon. This event is free with admission or membership. Zoosiana will close after this event.

3. New Orleans Eve

Every New Year’s Eve, tourists and locals alike gather at Jackson Square for the Fleur de Lis drop. Comparable to the ball drop in New York City, this annual tradition is fun for all ages, with fireworks once the clock strikes midnight. New Orleans Eve features live performances from DJ Captain Charles, Sweet Crude and Dumpstaphunk. This open-air concert is free to attend, and attendees may bring camp-style chairs as well as outside food and drink. The concert begins at 9 p.m. and goes until the countdown at midnight.

4. Louisiana Children’s Museum Noon Year’s Eve

New Year’s Eve is a celebration for all ages in New Orleans. Louisiana Children’s Museum’s Noon Year’s Eve features a countdown to noon that culminates in an explosion of colorful confetti and bubbles.

Price: $15 per person for members, $25 per person for non-members and $8 per person for those eligible for the Museums for All program.

1. Countdown on the Tchefuncte

The night features a Kids Countdown at 9 p.m. and a midnight fireworks finale that reflects across the water.

Live music begins with the Crispin Schroeder Band from 6 – 8 p.m., followed by Blenderz from 8:30 – 10:15 p.m. and Supercharger from 10:15 p.m. – 12 a.m.

A Kids Zone, presented by Market Munchkins from 6 – 9 p.m., offers crafts, face painting and plenty of activities. Food and beverage tents from local favorites: Abita Roasting, Social and Tchefuncte’s & The Anchor. Outside food and drinks are not permitted.
