The Greater Shreveport Chamber honored Steve Roop as its 2025 Business Leader of the Year, recognizing a distinguished career defined by financial expertise, executive leadership and decades of civic involvement in the Shreveport-Bossier region.
“It is truly an honor to follow in the footsteps of the great leaders who have served as the Chairman of the Chamber Board,” said 2026 Chairman of the Board Scott Ward. “The Greater Shreveport Chamber’s impact is measured not just by the programs we lead, but by the partnerships we build and the progress we help create for businesses and families across our region, and we will continue that work in the years ahead.”
Each year since 1978, the Greater Shreveport Chamber has recognized a local business leader who exemplifies superior business acumen paired with meaningful contributions to the community.
The chamber’s Senior Council selected Roop in recognition of his professional achievements and his enduring commitment to strengthening the region’s economic and civic foundation.

Greater Shreveport Impact Award
The chamber also presented its inaugural Greater Shreveport Impact Award to Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC) in recognition of its profound and lasting impact on the Shreveport-Bossier community and its critical role in national security.
Headquartered at Barksdale Air Force Base, AFGSC is responsible for the nation’s bomber force and intercontinental ballistic missile mission, serving as a cornerstone of the United States’ strategic deterrence. Beyond its national defense mission, AFGSC is also a major economic driver and an engaged community partner throughout Northwest Louisiana.
“The Greater Shreveport Impact Award celebrates those whose role in our community fosters unity and service and has helped illuminate and energize our unique cultural, social and economic landscape,” said Dr. Timothy Magner, president of the Greater Shreveport Chamber. “We recognize that Air Force Global Strike Command’s presence in our region extends far beyond the base gates. Their leadership, investment and partnership have strengthened our economy, supported workforce development and reinforced Shreveport-Bossier’s role in our nation’s security.”
