The 20th Plaquemines Parish Seafood Festival Celebrates Plaquemines Parish on April 26-28

BELLE CHASSE, La (press release) – The Plaquemines Parish Seafood Festival takes place April 26-28 at the festival grounds at 333 F Edward Hebert Blvd. in Belle Chasse.

The festival celebrates the parish’s unique seafood and culture by offering a variety of delicious cuisine prepared by local restaurants and organizations, including the Croatian American Society’s famous chargrilled oysters. There will also be live music, carnival rides, crafts from local artisans and an oyster drop raffle.  A 5k race will be held on Friday at 5:30 p.m., and there will be a kids’ tent on Saturday and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.

“This year we celebrate the 20th Plaquemines Parish Seafood Festival. Each year it keeps getting better as we honor our parish’s unique culture as one of the premier seafood parishes in the state. Please come out for an amazing weekend of music, food, carnival rides and fun for the entire family,” said Dondra Kientz, Plaquemines Parish Seafood Festival Event Coordinator.

6-8 p.m. • Rockin Dopsie Jr & The Zydeco Twisters

Admission is free on Friday. On Saturday and Sunday, admission is $5 for adults and free for children 12 and under. Gates will be open Friday from 6 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. and Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Parking is free.
