Your Louisiana Life

Bay de la Cheniere
Kevin Rabalais, New Orleans
There’s no denying that Louisiana is a beautiful state.
From south Louisiana’s coast to up north with its towering pine trees, and the lakes, bayous, prairies and plains in between, it’s the Sportsman’s Paradise indeed — not to mention a photographer’s paradise. For years, we’ve had an ongoing photo contest in search of a sharable image reflecting some aspect of Louisiana life and culture to run in the front of the magazine. The response has always been enthusiastic, resulting in scores of intriguing images that capture the landscape we all love. We get so many in fact, it seemed like a no-brainer to expand the contest into a full-fledged feature, showcasing the best of the best reader photos. In the following pages, you’ll see the Pelican State in all of her glory, seen through the lens of Louisianians. This is your Louisiana life. Thank you for sharing it with us.
