Galvez Rum Now Available in Select Louisiana Stores

JACKSON, La (press release) – Galvez Rum, one of the newest premium craft rums on the market and inspired by Revolutionary War hero Bernardo de Gálvez, is now hitting store shelves, bars and restaurants across Louisiana. After years of development as the oldest incorporated rum company in Louisiana, this premium small-batch rum is now currently available at retailers statewide, including Total Wine in Metairie, all 3 Oak Point Fresh Market locations in the Baton Rouge surrounding area, and Acquistapace’s Covington Supermarket, among a host of others.

Crafted and bottled on-site by Louisiana Distilleries, Galvez Rum is the result of over a decade of meticulous development, inspired by a deep connection to Louisiana’s sugar industry and the expertise of a Cuban rum maestro. Though incorporated over a decade ago, instead of rushing to market, Louisiana Distilleries spent time perfecting and learning the craft and what it takes to make Galvez Rums stand out among the rest. They now present a line of premium rums to the region and beyond that Louisianians can be proud of.

The Galvez Silver is a smooth, sippable 84 proof white rum that breaks expectations—refined enough to enjoy neat, yet versatile enough to incorporate into any rum-based premium cocktail. Galvez Victory Blend is a Cuban-style dark rum with notes of sweet and honeyed fruit, spice and tobacco that is equally impressive sipped from a snifter or in an upscale rum cocktail.

“Rum making is an art,” said William Manso, Galvez’s own Rum Maestro, responsible for the careful and refined craftsmanship of the Galvez blends. “You have to follow your instinct. It’s not a matter of a technical decision, but rather some artistic formula.”

Since its soft opening in October 2023, the Galvez Tasting Room & Gardens, located on the site of a historic winery in downtown Jackson, has welcomed visitors from across the region and even the world. The Spanish-style venue features outdoor event space, a rum-focused cocktail bar, and special events.

With the launch into a growing number of stores, fans can enjoy Galvez Rum at home—or continue to visit the tasting room for tasting flights, enjoying a cocktail on the weekends, or attending events like our upcoming Galvez Rum Festival on April 26.
