Grand Coteau Sweet Dough Pie Festival Last Saturday in October

GRAND COTEAU, La (press release) – The Grand Coteau Sweet Dough Pie Festival will be celebrated on Saturday, Oct. 25, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the grounds of the Grand Coteau Town Park behind Town Hall, 231 Burleigh Ln.
The festival includes sweet dough pie vendors, food trucks, arts & crafts, the sweet dough pie contest (the public is the judge) and music by Sheryl Cormier & the Cajun Sounds; Blue Monday; Next Gen Zydeco; Curley Taylor & Zydeco Trouble; and D.J. Hawk.
A variety of sweet dough pies will be available: sweet potato, fig, custard, lemon, blackberry….
Sweet dough pie makers are encouraged to enter early by contacting 337-331-6352.
Tables and chairs will be available to relax and enjoy the food and music. No alcohol. No pets.
Take a self-guided tour of Grand Coteau, passing by: St. Ignatius School, the St. Peter Claver complex, the Schools of the Sacred Heart, and St. Charles Borromeo Church. Don’t miss the St. Charles Cemetery with ancient Live Oaks and Spanish Moss. This is the final resting place of the first African American Mayor for the State of Louisiana since Reconstruction, the woman the St. Charles church bell was named after, historical gravesites of our war veterans, and many renowned Jesuit priests.
