For the first time, Taste Louisiana brought 11 renowned chefs to Chelsea Market in New York City for a one-night-only media and consumer tasting event.

Tickets for the “Taste Louisiana in New York City” event, hosted on Oct. 28, sold out weeks in advance, with over 500 New Yorkers in attendance.

“Taste Louisiana is a Marketing & PR campaign started by the Louisiana Travel Association over 16 years ago to bring our chefs and destinations to a different U.S. city each year, to position Louisiana as a culinary destination,” said President and CEO of the Louisiana Travel Association Chris Landry.

“The program has evolved through the years and was recently rebranded,” said Landry. “It was formerly known as Louisiana Culinary Trails, and a media-only event was held in NYC once before several years ago.”

So, what did those 500 New Yorkers experience this year? Organizers of the event shared the full menu:

  • Amba Pickled Shrimp with Green Chile Zhoug by Alon Shaya from New Orleans
  • Chocolate Croissant Bread Pudding by Maggie Scales from New Orleans

Did New Yorkers love the food enough to make their way down to the Bayou State? With 500 New Yorkers in attendance and 300 million impressions on the campaign’s earned and paid media metrics, Taste Louisiana sure hopes so.

Event organizers even share that there was incredible media and influencer attendance, with one influencer sharing that “Taste Louisiana in New York City” was the best foodie event they’ve been to in NYC.
