Adult Lemonade Recipe
As seen in the 2027 Culinary Calendar
Ingredients
6 cups water
1 cup sugar
1 cup fresh lemon juice
Sprigs of mint or cubes of watermelon for garnish.
1. Heat 1 cup of water in a saucepan until small bubbles form around the edges. Remove from the heat, add the sugar, and stir until dissolved. Set the simple syrup aside to cool.
2. Once cooled, combine the simple syrup with the lemon juice and 5 cups of water. Stir well and refrigerate until chilled. This is the base lemonade for both adults and children.
3. To make the adult version, fill a glass with ice and lemonade, then stir in 2 ounces of your preferred spirit, such as tequila, vodka, or gin. Add the alcohol to each individual glass to avoid mixing it into the children’s lemonade.
