Louisiana is a state filled with many amazing things: music, food, diverse heritage, fishing, hunting, festivals and more. While there are many resources for most of the Louisiana treasures–food influencers, magazines like ours, cultural centers and museums, wildlife and fisheries–there is a lack of a more central resource for festivals across the entire state.
Since we realized this, we started the Louisiana Life Festival Guide, beginning in May. Now, each month we’ll bring you the most comprehensive list of festivals across the state we can find, updated for changes year-to-year.

Alexandria
Bass Pro Shops Bulls, Bands and Barrels

Baton Rouge

Baton Rouge Underground Film Festival

The annual Baton Rouge Underground Film Festival allows film enthusiasts to experience four days of screenings, panels and events celebrating Louisiana’s independent film scene. This year’s festival will honor the Shoe String award recipient, “the filmmaker who did the most with the least.”
Totally Rad Vintage Fest

The Totally Rad Vintage Fest features vintage vendors with clothing and accessories from the 80’s, 90’s and Y2K, as well as a free-play vintage arcade, Rad Relic Museum and photo ops.
Bossier City
Message Fest

Message Fest is North Louisiana’s alternative rock festival celebrating the rock and alternative artists that keep the local music scene rich, creative and diverse.
Covington
Covington White Linen for Public Art

According to Visit the Northshore, Covington White Linen for Public Art is one of the Northshore’s most popular and well-attended events, showcasing the Northshore’s vast array of artists, restaurants, shops and more, with a percentage of businesses’ pre-tax sales during the event going to the Covington Public Art Fund.
The Mixoff Festival

The Mixoff Festival is a local cocktail competition where restaurants, bars, daiquiri shops and lounges serve their best signature drinks for attendees to sip and vote for the fan favorite. Live music, food trucks and vendors are also available. Must be 21+ to attend.
Delcambre
Delcambre Shrimp Festival

The Delcambre Shrimp Festival is five days of live music and food with a pageant, shrimp cook-off, fireman water fights and a blood drive on Aug. 5. Enjoy signature shrimp dishes like boiled shrimp, fried shrimp, shrimp sauce piquante, shrimp salad and more. The festival also offers a variety of other food items, cold beer, cold drinks and water.
Grand Chenier
Cameron Lions Club Fishing Festival

Gueydan
Gueydan Duck Festival

The Gueydan Duck Festival has its 50th anniversary of celebrating duck hunting. The festival offers live music, a pageant, state and local calling contests, dog trial competition, skeet shoot contest and more.
Lafayette
Acadian Culture Day

Leonville
Fête-Dieu du Teche

The 12th Annual Fête-Dieu du Teche, a Eucharistic boat procession down Bayou Teche, will sail at 9:30 a.m. after a French Mass with Bishop Douglas Deshotel. The procession includes stops at each church on the bayou. Additionally, there will be walking processions, benedictions and confession.
Marksville
Sip Wine & Spirit Fest

New Orleans
NOLA’s Weindorf at Deutsches Haus

Deutsches Haus hosts the New Orleans Weindorf, or “wine village,” each summer, celebrating Germany’s wine-producing regions and honoring the season’s first harvest with a festival of wine, food and entertainment. Organizers transform the Festival Hall into an indoor, garden-like German village. Entry ticket includes Wine Passport, tastings and a souvenir tasting glass.
White Linen Night

Fidelity Bank White Linen Night boasts the largest celebration of contemporary art in New Orleans. More than twenty galleries, museums and cultural institutions will debut exhibitions and special programming, with a range of food truck vendors also available.
Satchmo SummerFest

According to the festival website, the Satchmo SummerFest is one of the only festivals in the world dedicated to honoring American musical icon Louis Armstrong. The fest, coinciding with Armstrong’s birthday, features a delicious culinary lineup of Louisiana restaurants and a lecture series where renowned experts educate guests on Armstrong’s history and impact.
Red Dress Run

Red Dress Run is an annual “charity” run where runners wearing a red dress, with a drink in hand, move throughout the city creating a sea of red. Registration includes a gift to the first 3,000 and entry to Crescent Park where the event will have kegs from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., all-you-can-eat food from local restaurants starting at 11:30 a.m. and live music.
Dirty Linen Night

Dirty Linen Night is a satirical play on White Linen Night. Organizers share that the fest invites attendees to celebrate everything dirty and is the one event that celebrates the “not-so-pristine” side of the French Quarter. Musicians play in the street while galleries and shops open their doors to host attendees. A ticket to the fest includes specialty drinks, wine, beer and water.
Shreveport
First Annual 318 and Park Festival

Shreveport-Bossier City Pepper Festival

The inaugural Shreveport-Bossier City Pepper Festival boasts a celebration of all things spicy, from fresh peppers, hot sauces and seasonings. In addition to the flavors of the fest offered through food trucks, there will be live music, cornhole, home goods, crochet, original art, photo opportunities and more.
Slidell
End of Summer Fest
