The 24th annual Tales of the Cocktail returns to the Ritz-Carlton (July 19-24), with the theme “Spark,” highlighting the idea that every great movement begins with a single spark. The global event features over 60 seminars, workshops, labs, networking opportunities, rare spirit tastings, guided walking tours, competitions, fitness classes and Ben’s Friends, a sobriety support group hailed by sober-curious and recovering hospitality professionals switching from cocktails to mocktails.

Lafayette | Having a Laugh

The 2nd annual Lafayette Comedy Festival, “Best of the Fest” (August 6-9) is expanding into a full weekend of new, immersive brunch and comedy events throughout the self-proclaimed “happiest city on Earth.”

Grand Isle | Celebrating Hurricane Resilience

The Island Strong Music Festival (July 16-18) returns to the Tarpon Rodeo Pavilion with a three-day musical lineup, Louisiana food and arts and crafts. Created in the aftermath of Hurricane Ida, it celebrates Grand Isle’s resilience and community spirit, with proceeds benefitting recovery and revitalization projects across the island.

Livingston | For the Love of Clydesdales

Clydesdale fans can enjoy meeting adorable baby Relic, the first Cajun Clydesdale foal born at the new Wilder Blue Ranch on March 31, when attending the first annual Red, White, and Wilder Blue Market (July 12). The rare breed of friendly Clydesdales, aka “gentle giants,” roam green pastures, trailed by Huckleberry, the mini horse who thinks he’s a Clydesdale horse like the others. You’ll also find chickens, rabbits, turkeys and a baby piglet that wandered in and joined the clan. Private tours available by appointment.

South Louisiana | On the Crumbling Edge

An “outlaw romance for the end of America,” “Hold on to Your Angels” from Oscar-nominated director Benjamin Zeitlin (“Beasts of the Southern Wild”) is unfolding along the “crumbling edge of South Louisiana.” Starring Paul Mescal and Jessie Buckley, the Louisiana-based film begins production in early 2027.
